Facebook Video Autoplay

You may have noticed on Facebook lately that videos will start playing automatically both on a mobile device and on your computer. If you’re like me then you might find this rather annoying, luckily there are options for this and I’ll be telling you about them. If you’re using your computer to interact with Facebook then you’ll need to click on the down arrow beside the lock in the top right corner of the Facebook page and from the dropdown menu click on settings. In the next screen on the left menu at the bottom you’ll see Videos and once you’ve clicked on that you’ll see the Video Settings and Auto-Play Videos option which you can set to Off to stop the videos from playing on your computer.Computer Screenshot On your iPhone you only have the option to stop this when not connected to Wi-Fi which is better than letting it needlessly consume your data from your mobile plan. To change this you need to go into the iPhone settings and then scroll down until you see Facebook, once in there you’ll see another Settings option which after clicking will present you a few options and the one you’re looking for which is under the Video heading labeled Auto-play on Wi-Fi only. iPhone Screenshot With an Android device you need to go to the App Settings from within the Facebook app itself, here you’ll click on the checkbox beside the option labeled Auto-play videos on WiFi only.
