There has been an overwhelming amount of activity with viruses and malware in the last little while. Some have been around for 7 years as well that they just discovered, so just because your anti-virus hasn’t detected don’t assume you’re clean. Safe practice of what you do behind a computer will limit your chances but just being connected to the internet or installing something like pirated software put you at risk basically. Make sure you keep all your devices and software up to date, Apple has a vulnerability they announced and its latest update will fix that. Remember as well as software there are hardware updates that need/should be done for things like motherboards and routers etc., this isn’t complicated but done incorrectly could render your device useless so unless you know what you’re doing ask for help…. Some recent Viruses have disguised themselves as well so that prompt you get asking for an update could be one, if you’re suspicious and can go straight to the site and get it there to ensure you receive a legitimate one!
