On the back of desktops and the sides of the laptops there are ports called I/O (Input/ output) interfaces. These include the PS/2 (Personal System 2) port, the USB (Universal Serial Bus) port and the microphone and headphone jack. The personal system 2 port is usually used for the connection of a keyboard or a mouse. The headphone and microphone jack obviously, allow users to plug in a headphone and microphone.
