Opera

Opera is a free to use internet browser designed by Opera Software in 1994. Opera allows the user to do many of the essential things that people do on the internet – browse websites, sending and receiving e-mail, downloading and reading web feeds. Opera has a counterpart that is called Opera Mini and it is a very popular choice of browser for mobile devices (It is the only browser on the Nintendo DS system). There are also many features on the Opera browser, it includes tabbed browsing, page zooming, mouse gestures, and download manager. The browser is very focused on the accessibility for those who have visual or physical disabilities. Thus, it carries many personal preference settings to allow the user to customize it however they want. The whole browser can be controlled by shortcuts made by default or the user. Opera is also unique in the fact that it allows for mouse gestures, when the mouse makes a certain pattern on the screen it does a preprogrammed action, such as refresh and new tab. Opera follows the web standards; some of them are, CSS, HTML5, XHTML, XHTML Basic, XHTML Mobile profile, XHTML+Voice, WML 2.0, XSLT, XPath, XSL-FO, ECMAScript 5.1 (Javascript), DOM 2, XMLHttpRequest, HTTP, TLS, Unicode, SVG Basic, SVG Tiny, GIF89a, JPEG, and PNG.
