The RAM (Random Access memory) allows the computer to remember things that the user has accessed before in the session. Thereby, the RAM allows the program to load much faster for the user later in that session. The RAM is also the part that stores and sends the data a processor processes, since it has a much faster read write speed than a hard drive running at 1666MHz (1666 Million actions per second).
